Juniper Network Honored with Positive Rating in Gartner’s Report
Gartner has honored Juniper Networks with a ‘positive’ rating in its recently published MarketScope for Network Access Control (NAC), 2008. The report evaluates vendors based on the company's understanding of the NAC market; its marketing, sales and offering (product) strategy; sales execution and pricing; and its overall viability (business unit, financial, strategy, organization).
“Ensuring that employees, contractors and guests are dynamically provisioned with the right access control and security policies on the network is a critical problem for enterprises. Because of Juniper's ongoing ability to deliver best-in-class, innovative security solutions based on a highly scalable and open network infrastructure, customers have greater choice and control in quickly meeting high-performance business requirements,” said Sanjay Beri, vice president, Access Solutions, Juniper Networks.
According to the MarketScope, Gartner has defined the NAC market to be those vendors that sell appliance-based or endpoint software-based NAC solutions. To be included in the MarketScope, vendors' solutions must be composed of the policy, baseline and access control elements of NAC.
Gartner, in the report, also estimates that the NAC market grew 87 percent from 2006 to a total of USD 225 million in 2007, and anticipates it to grow approximately 100 percent in 2008.
